The SG10 TC is a resonant transformer built around an air core, also known as a Tesla coil. The Tesla coil is based on the principles of the coils originally developed by Nikola Tesla. Tesla was one of the most unusual personalities in the long history of inventors and pioneers. It is due to his efforts that we know about alternating currents and he invented the eponymous coil. His intention was to wirelessly connect the entire world with electricity. The coil was supposed to achieve that through the emission of lightning. Nowadays one tends to encounter coils that are used solely for the stunning visual effect.
